Osmond has been working with three schools to research mouse use in the IT Suite.

All the standard mice in the IT Suite of each school were replaced with Hoverstops. Each class then received a training session explaining the Hoverstop rationale and the importance of avoiding musculo-skeletal problems in their future lives. Children between 7 and 18 years of age then completed three online questionnaires over a period of a few months. As further motivation, competitions were organised to design a brochure and winners received their own Hoverstop to use at home.

The research is available at www.innovationzone.co.uk.

Guy Osmond, Managing Director of Osmond Group, reported "The response from the young children was immediate, enthusiastic and sustained. Disappointingly, the teenagers did not respond to ergonomics advice from me or warnings from the mouse. However, unresponsive teenagers will be a familiar experience for many parents!"
